Root canal

Root canal treatment is a dental procedure otherwise known as endodontic treatment. This dental process mainly treats the infected dental pulp (tooth’s soft central core). This procedure helps to control further infection of the pulp. In this course of action, the abnormal tooth pulp is removed and the areas within the teeth are filled and sealed. Root canal treatment is considered as the most hurting and painful of all dental treatment, but in reality it is false.

Necessity of root canal

Typically, root canal is executed to prevent further decay of tooth and to take care of the infection of the pulp called ‘pulpitis’. The state of the tooth which determines the root canal treatment includes

  • Severe toothache while grinding or biting the food
  • Tooth is broken down

  • Inflammation near the tooth, or discoloration of it

Root canal treatment may require compound dental appointments.
