Total Hip Replacement

Total Hip Replacement also acknowledged as a hip arthroplasty, is moderately regular surgical procedure performed to restore whole or part of the hip joint with an artificial joint.   • Quit smoking immediately

  • Pre arrange for leave from work, assistance at home, assistant for driving, and organize smooth running of usual tasks and commitments

Total Hip Replacement surgery after-care:

  • In case the patient has prosthesis,  it is necessary to take special care to protect themselves against any infections

The physical therapy routine should also include: 

  • Being able to do the normal activities such as sitting down, standing up, and taking the stairs
  • Exercises that are to be repeated for a specific number of times a day and those which are particularly designed to re-establish movement and strengthen up the hip joint
  • A measured walking program that steadily enhances mobility and stamina of the patient
  • Getting back to the routine household activities
