Other than lifestyle changes adopt some good habits for sustaining healthy life.

Lifestyle modification always labeled exercise, well eating, quality sleeping and relaxation as healthy habits. However, do you think they are sufficient for our survival without getting an illness? No…though lifestyle changes are valid enough for healthy body, we must adopt some good habits on daily basis to sustain fit life.

Marinating and microwaving the meat

Marinating and precooking meat in a microwave reduces the percentage of cancer-causing chemicals, according to Harvard Health Publication.

Fat dripping during grilling create a smoke filled with Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, or PHAs. Heating meat at a high temperature favors reaction of compounds inside the food and formation of heterocyclic amines (HCAs).Both PHAs  and HCAs have a cancer-causing potential in human being, according to studies.

Marinating meat cut down the formation of HCAs. Precooking meat in a microwave for two minutes not only reduces the formation of HCAs but also reduces an excess amount of fat. Another way, you can wrap meat in a foil with holes that limit the amount of fat drippings and formation of PHAs.

Disinfecting kitchen clothes

Regular cleaning and disinfecting kitchen clothes or sponges after preparation of each meal is great habit for avoiding illness.

Kitchen clothes are the most unhygienic item in Indian households as per headline from The Indian Express, a reputed newspaper circulated in India. Clothes or sponges used in a kitchen for cleaning utensils, countertop and other appliances carry dirtiest germs, according to study reported in news.

Best way to disinfect smelly kitchen clothes is vinegar method. Soak clothe in a solution of white vinegar or baking soda and water and then wash with laundry detergent.

Covering sleeping mattress and pillows

Sleeping mattress and pillows provide ideal environment for growth and spread of dust mites. Tiny flakes of dead skin cells shed by human on every day are a chief feed of dust mites. An average adult person may shed up to 1.5 grams of skin in a day, which is enough to feed 1 million dust mites as per AAFA. Additionally, these flakes favor their deep way inside the pillow and mattresses.

Dust mite dropping is a main culprit for provoking allergic reaction due to its protein contents. A single dust mite in its whole life can produce waste equal to 200 times its body weight. Though mites die but leave their waste behind.

Covering pillows and mattresses with dust-proof cover prevent letting inside and growing of dust mites.

Choosing environment-friendly cleaners

Household cleaners are irresistible part of our everyday cleaning activities. Starting from cleaning our toilet up to clean our car, we are using these chemicals considering they are making our work effortless.

However, many household products used for cleaning, car care and yard care are toxic, corrosive, flammable or reactive, according to guide from New Mexico State University’s Cooperative Extension Service College of Agriculture and Home Economics.

Harmful caustics or solvents contains from these cleaners endanger human health when used, stored or disposed improperly.

Use baking soda, vinegar, and borax or lemon oil or select herbal products free of chemicals for cleansing purpose.

Distracting from electronic gadgets

Limiting the use of electronic gadgets like television, computer and mobile is a great way to add healthy days in your life.

No doubt electronic gadgets not only simplified our life but add enjoyment. Watching movies, browsing,chatting, and playing games may provide you relaxation. However, these are beneficial only when use in limits. As excess is always dangerous, too much use of these gadgets brings some health issues.

Excess use can result in sleep problem, overweight, body ache or hearing problems. So use them in limitation and find your way in nature.
